Pep Rally!!
The BCHS cheerleaders, band and football players visited today for a FUN pep rally. Maddi even got to go out onto the field and help the BCHS girls with a cheer. What a fun afternoon!
Creepy Crawlies!!
Spider Fun
Our favorite spider facts:
- Black Widow Spiders eat their boyfriends!
- The venom of a black widow spider is stronger than a rattlesnake's venom!
- Water spiders carry a dome of oxygen (air bubbles) way down deep into the water so that they can live there and breathe fresh air (like Sandy the Squirrel on Sponge Bob Square Pants!
- Orb Spiders make the most beautiful webs. We have two of them near our lunchroom.
- Spiders inject their venom into their prey. The venom liquefies the insect's insides. Then, the spider drinks it's victim like soup.
Our favorite video: the Trap Door Spider
We made spaghetti webs! What gooey, messy FUN!
Exploring the Public Library
During the week of Columbus Day, we learned all about exploration. We decided that we should explore the Banks County Public Library. Mrs. Krumnow took us on a grand adventure through books and sent the Busy Bees on a "search and explore" mission to find one albino animal, one endangered animal, and one reptile. The Banks County Public Library is the BEST!!!
Farm Day Fun
Our Busy Bees LOVED farm day! We saw SO many animals, from alpaca to honey bees and everything in between. While we were outside at the farm day exhibits, our homemade applesauce was inside cooking in the slow cooker. We ended the day with hot applesauce and cold vanilla ice cream. What fun memories!
Recipe for Homemade Applesauce:
1. Core and slice apples
2. Add water, cinnamon and sugar. Cook in a slow cooker all day (or at least 4 hours)
3. Mash up the apples to make applesauce. Serve with cold ice cream. YUM!
