The playground outside of the Greenville Zoo is AWESOME!!!

We loved eating lunch on the bus ride home.... Monil was chillin' like a villain :-).
LET'S GO FLY A KITE!!!

We have been learning about the air all around us.  It keeps us alive!  We have to take care of our air by planting trees, carpooling or riding a bus when possible, taking a walk or riding a bike when we are just going a short way, and conserving electricity.

As we learned about air, our FAVORITE topic was air that MOVES: WIND!

We had lots of fun learning about wind!

We flew kites.

We made our own kites!  This is how we did it:

step 1: use masking tape to put together 2 skewers (with points cut off) in the shape of a cross.

Step 2: cut a grocery sack in half.  Take the sack onto the sticks.

like this.......

Finally, attach string to the bottom of the kite.

We LOVED Kite Day!!!
First grade is SO much fun!!!!!

..... And we are becoming such WONDERFUL WRITERS in first grade!  This is Addie's acrostic poem about wind:
